My husband actually took this picture while we visited the zoo. We thought the heat lamp was quite funny. It was about 30 degrees outside at the height of the afternoon.

I'm back! I was on a trip which is why there haven't been any postings. Here is one for today of the Alaska Iditarod 2009 beginning.

I am posting this picture not because it is great but but because it shows progress. This is the first shot of my dog I have been able to take where you actually see the features of her face, including her eyes. She is not quite in focus but almost. She has been very hard to photograph because she is black and moves around too much to catch.

I planned on starting this blog earlier this week but it took me a while to actually get it set up. I was taking pictures each day and thought I would post them all at once. In most posts I will probably just post the picture. If I felt I had to give a lot of info it would take too long and then I wouldn't post. So just know that for now explanations about pictures will be very terse.
Oh, not much post processing has been done on most of my pictures. I do not have much knowledge in this area. I am working on learning this also.

Let's Begin

I am a very, very, very amature photographer. I would like to consistently take better pictures and the only way that will happen is if I take pictures regularly. So, I am starting this blog. My goal is to take some picture every day and post it here. Hopefully as time goes on my pictures will get better and better. Join me in my daily journey.

My equipment:
Nikon D70
Nikkor 18-200 VR lens
Nikkor 50 mm 1.8 lens
and a couple of Sigma lenses that I rarely use
Nikon Speedlight SB-600

So, I am set with some decent equipment and now I just need to learn how to use it.
